JOHN DAROVITZ
Modern Pointillist
John Darovitz, 56, realized his life’s passion was creating art which started at a young age. While in grade
school, he discovered a technique used by Georges Seurat called pointillism. His work heavily influenced John’s
artistic style by using Map Pins instead of a paintbrush. As Darovitz spent years experimenting and building his
artistic career, he didn’t expect his relationship with his art would become a therapeutic aspect of his recovery.
During his adult years he became diagnosed with clinical depression and generalized anxiety. As a result,
dedicated 4 years to create a 20-piece pin art series entitled ‘Influencers’ which consisted of famous
personalities such as Kobe Bryant, Taylor Swift and Mark Wahlberg, and others; who’ve been either affected
by, or became advocates for Mental Health issues. After moving to Florida last year, he started a more
contemporary style second series entitled “Coastal Life” to depict more of a cheerful beach lifestyle.
John Darovitz is our featured artist for the month of August, 2024. The exhibit opening will be held during the 1st Saturday Art Walk in Ormond Beach, FL on August 3rd from 3-7pm. Talk with us for more information at 386.317.9400.
