More About Paul Rupprecht:
More Than Representation
Living is more than existing. Light is more than energy. Color is more than wavelength. And Art is more than representation. Art has an “it” factor that is vital, vivid and vibrant.
“IT” is in our feelings and thoughts: part intuition; part reasoning. An invisible pattern in what is seen. The details of its pattern made visible in myriads of different ways in artwork from prehistoric cave painting to modern action painting and beyond.
The Divine Proportion is a pattern of the “IT” of Art, the sequence of Fibonacci numbers shows the details of its pattern and color makes “IT” vibrant, vivid and vital.
For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. Romans 1:20
Paul Rupprecht
Born in Washington DC. Artistic and analytic interests began in early childhood. Studied Architecture at the University of Miami and received Bachelor of Art degree from the University of Maryland School of Studio Art. Studied computer science at the George Washington University and received Master of Computer Science degree from the GWU School of Engineering and Applied Science.
Entered Federal Civil Service. Served in the Department of the Army as a programmer/analyst. Developed force management and manpower management systems using web and AI technology.
Retired from Federal Service and relocated to Florida. Devotes full time to create works of art that integrate classic art techniques, color theory and mathematical models. Studies all aspects of the mysterious relationship between Art and Science:
“[the] many illustrations of art’s precognitive power, showing how artists repeatedly conjured up revolutionary images before physicists formulated visionary new configurations of the world.”
(Shlain L., Art & Physics p.425)
