Biography:
Scott Hiestand
Scott was raised in St. Petersburg, Florida and relocated to Ormond Beach in 1999. He obtained a four-year art degree from Hussian School of Art, Philadelphia in 1970. After graduation, Scott was employed by Hallmark Cards to create floral landscapes and wildlife environment greeting cards. He later worked as a graphic artist for St. Petersburg Times for fifteen years, where a large part of his responsibility was to illustrate the outdoor pages.
Scott’s work has been recognized throughout the United States. In July 2015, he won the Artistic Merit Award for Wekiva Turkeys presented by the St. Augustine Art Association during their 6th Annual Nature and Wildlife Exhibit opening reception in St. Augustine. He is a State of Indiana upland game bird stamp contest winner. He has had work selected for Paint America National Gallery tour and designed the Florida Bass automobile license tag. He was the over-all winner for the Plein Air Magazine Salon Contest. His fine art work is in many private and corporate collections, including the Daytona
Beach Museum of Arts and Sciences, Florida Game and Freshwater Commission, and the College of Central Florida, Ocala. He is most known for his plein air painting, and enjoys falconry.
