ORMOND BEACH, FL - On Saturday, September 7, 2024, Palm Coast artist Patricia Conway will introduce her newest collection of stained glass art in Ocean Art Gallery’s main exhibition space. As Ocean’s Featured Artist for September, Conway will welcome collectors and first time guests during Ormond’s Art Walk from 3 to 7pm.
Conway’s “Glass, Lead, Design, and Light” collection will feature stained glass pieces featuring coastal Florida designs, plus several intricate dragon designs in honor of the current Year of the Dragon. She has pieces that hang in windows and others that are suspended within classic frames designed for placement on tables, pedestals, and other flat surfaces within the home or office.
Gallery curator and art consultant Cherree Mallette encouraged Conway to craft stained glass art that could be suspended from frames built from lead, steel, or wood, thus enabling the glass pieces to be placed wherever there is sunlight, other than suspended in windows. Early results in the gallery have been very successful as guests and clients have acquired these pieces for themselves and for gifts.
Conway said: “Still to this day I love the way glass has a way of changing through the day as the sun rises and sets. Like us humans going through the day; each minute can change the way we think and feel and so can my glass pieces.”
Gallery owner-director Frank Gromling invites art lovers to visit the gallery to meet Conway and view her creative art. Live music by keyboardist DB Roberts and light refreshments will add to the enjoyment of the art opening reception. Ocean Art Gallery is located at 197 E Granada Blvd., Ormond Beach, at the intersection with SR A1A. Some 30 other Granada Plaza tenants provide food, ice cream, smoothies, olive oil, and more.
