More About Cherree:
Biography:
Cherree Mallette was raised in a small town in Ohio, surrounded by music and the arts. She began to draw, play guitar, sing and dance at an early age. After receiving an AA in Visual Communications from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Cherree completed her BA in Drawing and Painting at the University of Pittsburgh.
Cherree’s fine art medium is oil dry brush, and her style is monochromatic surrealism. Her artwork is in a scale of 40” x 32” as well as 22.5” x 30”. It’s two-dimensional on acid-free paper. Cherree uses her photography as a cross-reference in her work.
Cherree is a storyteller who works in series with a purpose. These series are different chapters from different times of her life. As an example, “Spearmint Blue Walls” is a series about an artist’s work … to be recognized and to make it as an artist. Another series is “Natural vs. Natural” … the relationship of the earth with humanity. “Come take a Seat” refers to the unknown voice to be known and helping to start construction on homeless shelters for the homeless. The latest series, “Splashparencies,” focuses on our waters and how different vibrational frequencies we transmit through fluid waters truly mirror ourselves. “Splashparencies” works also contribute to helping our waters.
Some of her group exhibitions include: Society of the Four Arts (Palm Beach, FL); Orlando Museum of Arts and Science (Orlando, FL); Maitland Museum of the Arts (Maitland FL); Terrace Gallery in the Orlando City Hall, which she was asked to exhibit her work throughout the building; S.E. Feinman Fine Arts LTD (New York); and just recently SNAP! Director/Owner, Patrick and Holly Kahn, (Downtown Orlando) and Reef Gallery Owner, Bruce Elliot (Key Largo, FL).
She has participated in and received Best of Show, First Place, Judges Choice, Merit and Honorable Mention Awards at numerous Central Florida art festivals. These shows include: Festival of the Masters of Walt Disney World and Winter Park Festival of the Arts.
