"Lasting Impressions"
Jones paints subjects that leave "Lasting Impressions" on our mind and soul. He enjoys capturing the light and emotions of subjects that are available for all of us to enjoy. Sometimes the paintings carry historical significance such as his painting of the "St. Augustine Lighthouse." Other times he travels to areas frequented by many of us and captures the early morning light of the sun over the ocean in his painting titled "Atlantic Sunrise". His work celebrates the wonder of light and color. Jones often works en plein air; painting directly on site to portray the world as he sees it. Other times more detailed architectural images require many hours of work in the studio using sketches and plein air paintings as references to create the final painting. Many of the subjects Jones paints are for us to enjoy in our homes and remind of places we have been that have given each of us "Lasting Impressions."
